Join us at Capstone Engineering Academy for STEM education courses as part of our curriculum!
Capstone Engineering Academy is a new private school in Calgary that has the unique ability to offer students in grades 10 – 12 courses on Career and Technology Studies (CTS). As our school’s expertise and focus is STEM, the quality of our courses and the skills of our teachers will greatly supplement your own school’s STEM programs.
The Capstone Engineering Academy philosophy is rooted in the view that students are naturally eager for STEM knowledge and capable of learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared collaborative learning environment. Our approach encourages and helps initiate the development of each student academically, technically, socially, and cognitively with critical design and problem-solving abilities in the fields of Engineering and Technology.
Students in grades 10 – 12 learn or build on knowledge about small tools, including instruction on safety, use of tools and their application within a project. Students learn about new materials and their physical properties for use in a project. This may also include 3D design, integration of project components, mathematics (area, volume, sizes) and programming.
Initial lessons are typically presented to small groups of students, who are then free to follow up with independent design and construction of their own project.
Please note: These courses are available to Alberta students registering as a non-primary student with Capstone Engineering Academy.
Capstone Engineering Academy Career and Technology Courses
Our Engineering & Technology education courses are designed to provide students the opportunity to discover, explore and learn technical skills, enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills, and gain confidence as they learn from remote areas.
For the 2024/2025 school year, we have a comprehensive and growing list of grades 10-12 Engineering & Technology courses to help students in their educational journey. These are distance education classes and the majority of classes will be conducted either online or through print-based materials. Any lab work will be conducted within our Lab of Discovery. Students will register with Capstone Engineering Academy as a non-primary student.
Registration due by September 26th, with classes starting October 6th.
Price: Funded by Alberta Education
